This certification signifies the organization’s dedication to creating an environment of connection, inclusion, appreciation, and overall well-being within the community, aligning with other compassionate organizations to positively impact others.

North County Education Character Scholarships

The North County Education Foundation (NCEF) presented Classical Academy High School Seniors Mya De La Rosa, Aris Kalpakgian, and Ashlyn Allen with $2,000 scholarships each. Students applied for the scholarships by sharing this year’s subject, “passion,” through essays and formal interviews with a panel of judges.

Student Takes First Major Win in World Surf League

Coastal Academy High School (CAH) Junior Caitlin Simmers won the third stop on the World Surf League (WSL) at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal contest. The WSL Surf Contest Championship Title comprises of ten contests and finals in eight countries, including Australia, El Salvador, Tahiti, Brazil, and South Africa. Caitlin is currently tied for second place worldwide and is one of the youngest surfers to win the US Open of Surfing.

Classical Academy Middle School Receives Prestigious National Award

The prestigious “Rise Award” was presented to Classical Academy Middle School (CAMS) for its exceptional dissemination of the Summit Learning Program. This national recognition honors schools with systems, structures, and cultures that prepare students with the skills and knowledge to succeed in life beyond the classroom. The award commended CAMS for its dedication to continuous improvement, emphasizing rigor, customization, self-direction, and collaborative approaches across tracks, cementing its status as a standout institution preparing students for success in life beyond the classroom.

National Special Education Excellence Award

National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) has awarded The Classical Academies as Exceptional Charter Schools in Special Education. This is the highest honor a school can achieve and is bestowed on schools that meet rigorous criteria and have demonstrated exceptional dedication, commitment, and achievement in special education. This award was first received in 2017-2018, and The Classical Academies continue to be recognized annually.

Coastal Academy High School Athletics Achievement and Growth

Coastal Academy High School’s Athletics program has reached its sixth year of CIF competition, celebrating sustained growth and achievement. Demonstrating success across numerous sports, teams have consistently secured league titles and made notable appearances in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs. The girls’ softball team secured its first CIF San Diego title, and the football team has displayed remarkable progress, earning league titles and expanding its presence in the CIF playoffs. Remaining deeply rooted in the core values of Stingray Strong, Coastal Academy High School boasts a comprehensive roster of sports offerings, including Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Flag Football, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, Cheer, Baseball, Softball, Swim and Dive, Track and Field, Dance, Sail, and Surf.

High School Athletics Highlights

Classical Academy High School’s athletic program has had remarkable success, building on the outstanding achievements of past CIF and State Championships. Athletes secured three prestigious CIF titles, triumphing in Cross Country, Boy’s Water Polo, and Girl’s Flag Football. These victories underscore the dedication and hard work of student-athletes and coaches.

Teams made significant waves that obtained attention from local media and the broader San Diego sports community. The CAHS athletic program is founded on principles that extend beyond the playing field. Fun, friendships, fitness, and future success are priorities and have proven to be a winning formula in athletic achievements and creating a positive and supportive environment for all students.
