Coastal Academy Celebrates 20 Years of Serving Families
Marking its 20th anniversary, Coastal Academy celebrated two decades of educational excellence, community, and transformative growth in 2023. Founded on principles of academic rigor, personalized learning, and a strong sense of community, Coastal Academy remains committed to serving families and empowering students to excel academically, socially, and emotionally. The school community celebrated with an all-school celebration on campus. Coastal Academy remains dedicated to evolving, inspiring, and preparing every student to think, communicate, and achieve!
Super STEM Saturday Welcomes Thousands
Over 12,000 attendees visited Super STEM Saturday in mid-March at California State University San Marcos. Thousands of families enjoyed the day exploring hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math activities. Caiman Choir – Caiman Chorale
The Caiman Chorale & Vocal program achieved remarkable heights this year with the arrival of a new Choir Director. Richly diverse performances traversed centuries and cultures, as audiences were treated to a captivating array of pieces in English, Latin, German, Hebrew, and Aboriginal Australian, each performance a celebration of musical diversity. These showcases highlighted the incredible talents of soloists, as well as the dynamic contributions of men’s and women’s ensembles, chamber singers, and more. The program’s expansion into various vocal groups adds depth and dimension to each performance, marking a year of extraordinary musical exploration and excellence.
Musical Theater
The Classical Academies presented over eight musical theater productions this past year, including Best of Broadway Showcase, Frozen, Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors, The Addams Family, and the Tempest, in addition to numerous band performances. Parents donated over 10,000 volunteer hours to make each of these productions possible. The Classical Academies have provided musical theater opportunities for students for the past 23 years. Many of these students graduate and pursue music and theater in college and career.
Caiman Corps: A Symphony of Success
The Caiman Corps Marching Band and Color Guard stunned audiences at the California State Band Championships with their rendition of “The Phantom of the Opera,” securing 1st Place at the Escondido Tournament, outshining the combined might of the “78th Regiment.” Despite their modest size of under 50 members, they clinched an impressive 14th place statewide, showcasing remarkable skill and teamwork. The CAHS Indoor Drumline also shone, ranking 9th in California for schools under 1000 students and claiming the gold medal for “High Percussion” at the Riverside City College Tournament, solidifying their status as musical virtuosos.
